- Donald Trump announces offering the White House Press Secretary role to UFC President Dana White.
- A proposal to enlist prominent foreign fighters such as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev as media aides.
- The controversial offer follows the firing of Press Secretary Katie Zacharia just five days into the job.
In a move that seems closer to a joke but has garnered widespread attention, US President Donald Trump announced on his social media network an unusual offer to UFC mixed martial arts president Dana White to assume the role of White House Press Secretary.
Trump wrote in his post: "I am pleased to announce that the wonderful Dana White, a fighter and fierce warrior, has been offered the position of White House Press Secretary." The US President did not stop there, calling for several top fighting stars to be brought in to assist White in the mission.
Enlisting Foreign Fighters to Confront Opponents
Trump added in his post: "I asked him to bring with him as assistants, even though some of them do not belong to our country, Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harrison. We need these people to defend us against the eccentric left. Dana will be a spokesperson like no other, Dana, please take the job!"
Turmoil in the Administration and Close Ties
This controversial proposal comes at a time when the White House Press Office has experienced notable turmoil, marked by the fleeting tenure of Katie Zacharia, who spent just five days as Press Secretary before being dismissed following a press conference described as a complete failure.
It is worth noting that the close relationship between Donald Trump and Dana White has long been well known publicly, with both figures regularly exchanging praise. This partnership previously led to the hosting of an extraordinary UFC event at the White House last June, coinciding with the US President's 80th birthday.
